Audio Recording and narration

Wednesday, 7th June, We the Gob have started on audio recording in the ICT lab after club hours, Unfortunately one of our members, Tashi, is not present so its the 4 of us working on the narration and voice overs.

The progress is taking place in the ICT lab where we first started with the draft of our narration by practicing in front of the microphone. We tried one by one and listened to our voices to check who would be suitable enough to do the narration for us, Shreya was the first one to try as we had initially decided to set her as the narrator for our video documentary.

After several tries, Ngawang is the CHOSEN one for our voice recording. She was reluctant and hesitant at first however sir Mani Wangdi's words of encouragement and Shreya bargaining her with kurkure{snack} did the trick.

Reattempts and corrections of pronunciations, rate of speech and audibility were made again and again. 
Ngawang tried again and again unless she was satisfied with the clip. We were the first team to give voiceover the try because only our team was the only one with completed  script. Since we were the first team to give it a try, it was little at the disadvantage side. We didn't get enough time to revise our voices as it was getting late, even though  we weren't completely satisfied with some clips. 



We were thankful to Ngawang for doing such a great job with the voice overring. We were so invested in recording that we lost track of the time and its was late by the time we were completely done with the draft recording. We also had done so many reattempts that by the end of the recording that we had 60 clips. After that we exported our clips that was edited which took 10 minutes. While waiting we talked with sir Mani and as always he gave us lot of advices.

World Environmental Day

On world environmental day, select students and student leaders were selected to attend the conference in the Dzongkhag administration. Fortunately the entire team got to attend and one of our members, Tashi, got an opportunity to address the issue with climate change and our "collective negligence".  The conference was an amazing way to start off a domino reaction to get everyone started on advocacy and  Greta Thunberg stuff. The day was also important to address the issues caused by the HOT temperatures.  The team was busy taking notes for what they could take from the meeting and apply in this competition, the most notable being the "Zero Waste App" which apparently pays you money for snitching on offenders who violate Bhutan's environmental laws, basically reporting a person committing offenses has a huge fine amount ranging from Nu.250 to Nu.30,000, which is free pocket money by now Also they had four air conditioners on and they served momos, tea, water bu...

The rule of thirds

On May 15th, 2023, we had a productive discussion on video recording techniques and received valuable tips. Shreya took diligent notes as we explored various aspects of capturing compelling videos. During our session, we learned ten tricks that can enhance the visual appeal of our recordings: 1. The push forward. 2. The crane shot. 3. The fly through. 4. Slide/dolly. 5. The fake drone shot. 6. Additionally, we received some useful tips that can greatly improve our video recording skills: 1. Locking your elbows to ensure stable footage and avoid shaky shots. 2.
