2nd day of video documenting (The day we were ready to give up)

21st of May was the day we nearly gave up on this tournament. It was Sunday and our second day to go out and work on our documentary, that day was tough for us. We had slept late the night  before going through the interviews we did on Saturday ,our homework and our house chores. Due to sleeping late the night before, we decided to sleep more in the morning and meet at 1pm in the afternoon. But what we didn’t take notes about was health conditions and the weather conditions. Two members from our team had terrible cramps and the weather was extremely gloomy. While texting each other on social media, we started to question whether the tournament was worth our time, effort and our energy. We kept on seeing the other teams doing way better than us and our self esteem hit rock bottom. We contemplated “why are we actually doing this?” Everyone in our team was struggling and all of us thought about how it might not be worth it. We also thought about calling our coordinator sir Man...

First day of Video Documenting

On a Saturday, we planned to meet up at 11 am. Unfortunately, the school's plans for the Dzongkha nursery rhyme competition were disrupted as the contestants were granted permission by the principal to work on their video documentaries. Originally, Sir Mani Wangdi had suggested a meeting time of 9 am, coinciding with the school nursery rhyme competition. However, we were all too tired to wake up that early, so we ended up gathering at 12 noon instead. We started discussing and planning on our next step, whom to interview in the town? where to do it? how should we do it? Never mind the serious thinking, we just got ice cream before starting everything to cool down our minds(ice cream image). After the delicious milk ice cream and aggressive biting, we headed down to the town to first of all, print our script as we needed to look as professional and ethical as possible. The printing was kinda hectic as there were some issues with the business owner but we managed to pay up and starte...

While Tashi was busy noting down "why we were ready to give up".  Shreya and Gyelzin  on the other hand were busy sending entries to our platform. Meanwhile Ngawang was panicking on how to updating the blog and was dying from inside.  Signing out, Garbage  Goblins

Designing our Logo

We are proud to announce the successful establishment of "Garbage Goblins," a platform dedicated to making Bhutan a cleaner and greener place. Recognizing the areas with significant waste accumulation, our aim is to connect individuals who are passionate about improving air quality. To join our initiative, please access the form at the following link :> https://five.epicollect.net/project/garbage-goblins. In addition, we are delighted to unveil our official group logo for Garbage Goblins. During the design process, we focused on capturing the essence of our mission.  The logo depicts a goblin wearing a banana peel as a hat. The goblin represents our team's wonderfully unique personalities, while the banana peel symbolizes waste and reflects our self-deprecating sense of humor. Thus, our name, Garbage Goblins, came to be. After careful consideration, we made a few adjustments to the logo to enhance its visual appeal. While staying true to our original concept, we explor...

The rule of thirds

On May 15th, 2023, we had a productive discussion on video recording techniques and received valuable tips. Shreya took diligent notes as we explored various aspects of capturing compelling videos. During our session, we learned ten tricks that can enhance the visual appeal of our recordings: 1. The push forward. 2. The crane shot. 3. The fly through. 4. Slide/dolly. 5. The fake drone shot. 6. The push forward (reiterated). 7. The fly by. 8. The slider/pan. 9. The pull back. 10. The crane revealed. Additionally, we received some useful tips that can greatly improve our video recording skills: 1. Locking your elbows to ensure stable footage and avoid shaky shots. 2. Utilizing exposure lock to focus on specific elements within the frame. 3. Emphasizing content over personal appearance while operating the camera. 4. Having a friend assist from behind, allowing the camera operator to focus solely on capturing the footage. 5. Experimenting with shots of varying distances but maintaining con...
